Finnair makes possible three weddings in Moomin World
Arguably the most known and adored Finnish icon, next to Santa Claus, the white, hippo-like Moomins have become a worldwide phenomenon through puppet animation and Japanese-style cartoons. In Finland, the Moomins have their own hotel rooms in the Naantali Spa Hotel and The Moomin World theme park in Naantali. They also have their own Moomin Museum in Tampere and numerous gallery and museum exhibitions around the country every year.
Much loved especially in Japan by young and old alike, getting married in Moomin World sounds like a fairytale. And for three couples that wish came true when they participated in Finnair Japan’s Facebook contest. The wedding ceremony was held in summery Moomin World, Naantali and the couples were married by no other than Snufkin. Join their wedding celebrations and feel the love and happiness of their special day.
Moomins creator Tove Jansson would have turned 100 years old this year. To celebrate her memory, Finland will be full of Moomin activities throughout the year that is called “Tove 100”. This includes the Finnish National Gallery Ateneum’s major centenary exhibition that presents Jansson’s impressive career like never seen before. The exhibition will take place from now to 7 September 2014.
