The stylishly transformed New York loft-style apartments | Unveiling of Tung Fat Building

The stylishly transformed New York loft-style apartments, each with spacious lines and stunning harbour views, above trendy new eatery, CHINO, has preserved the facade and original architectural features of the classic tong lau. Habitat Property preserved the building’s authentic nameplate, emblazoned above the entrance in Chinese script; lowered the parapets to maximise sea views; and refurbished the walk-up’s terrazzo staircase, while also installing a modern-day lift - a first for this type of property. The design team achieved a sense of calming and restful luxury inside, through their use of soft natural materials, a neutral colour palette, and bespoke luxury accents such as brass joinery handles. Outside, they refurbished the iconic façade retaining as many of the original features as possible, including the sweeping, curved glass windows.

At the heart of this vibrant new residential enclave, highly-designed apartments in the upmarket Tung Fat Building are available on the premium rental market and range in size from 960 to 1,320 sq. ft., including a penthouse with landscaped rooftop, with a monthly price tag in the region of HK$48,000 to HK$110,000.
